Bricked TP-Link RE200 V1

I followed the steps given to install the firmware using the Web Interface Method with the image preparation tool as mentioned. Everything went off smoothly, however, after the rebooting, the device is not accessible using 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.254 (default IP of TP-Link RE200). It is not even pinging. Any suggestions to fix this?

Initial installation and sysupgrades take in the range of 10-20min. You need to connect serial next to live mains wires to recover.
Set static IP in those subnets and try to ping addresses, maybe it is half broken.,

Oh. Thanks for your reply. So should I live it on for around 20 minutes and check? As disassemble your device and attach serial console! is beyond my expertise.

If you started flashing just leave it programming for 20min before removing power. Check that you prepared correct factory image. If not all is lost.

100% correct factory image! openwrt-23.05.4-ramips-mt7620-tplink_re200-v1-squashfs-factory.bin & RE200(EU)_V1_171206.zip. Used to tool to create openwrt-webif.bin and upgraded the firmware. However after the flashing, I did not wait for 10-20 minutes as I was not aware of that. However, I turned it on & off a few times, tried to reset it using the reset button as well as WPS button. Will leave it on for a while and see.

Sadly serial only, you have a bootloader that needs serial connection to load firmware from network.

Thanks. It did not work. Thankfully I bricked a device that was not in use for the last 3-4 years, so its okay, wanted to give the openwrt thing a shot. Learnt my lesson! :slightly_smiling_face:
