Bricked TL-WPA8630 (UK) v1 after sysupgrade

Hello, I am new OpenWrt user and would say my 'computer skills' are between novice and intermediate.
I flashed OpenWrt to my device using the information found on this page: https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/tp-link/tp-link_tl-wpa8630

After logging in to the LuCI interface and failing to install openvpn-openssl due to not enough storage space, I attempted to free some space using the command 'auc -f' (https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/installation/attended.sysupgrade#from_the_cli)
As far as I understand, this command would build a sysupgrade image with my current configuration and packages, and then reflash it so that there would again be some more user storage space left.

After building the firmware it started flashing. I left it for a good 10 minutes. Then I tried to reboot the device. Now the device is most likely bricked from what I can tell. After powering on the device, all the LEDs come on for a split second (which is normal behavior I think). The power LED then comes on followed by the LED next to it a few seconds later. The power LED stays on for about 7 seconds. The second LED stops after 17 seconds.

I have attempted some of the recovery methods from the wiki. I am unable to access failsafe mode as the reset button doesn't seem to do anything. (Or at least the LED pattern is unchanged). TFTP is also not accessible. It seems this device now powers on just for about 20 seconds and dies.
One thing perhaps of note, I found a TP-Link internal utility on the TP-Link forums called PowerLine.exe. If I connect the device to my laptop via ethernet and power it on and start pressing the scan button, I can very briefly see the device show up. It then disappears again since it dies quickly.

I know this device revision is quite old but if someone would be interested in helping me unbrick I would very much appreciate that

My regards, Sven
