Block IP Range

Hi, just registered and searched if there are someone with the same need as I do, but didn't find any with answer..
I have set all my devices in a ip range from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.25..
How can I block the acess to those devices from the rest of the network? ie 192.168.1.26 to 192.168.1.254...

Thanks

You cannot, assuming your subnet is 192.168.0.0/24

Clients in the same subnet will just bypass the router

If you want to separate by IP address use subnetting e.g. make a Guest Wifi

I don't know if I can do that because the openwrt that does the wifi is another one that is connected as client without dhcp..
it would be good to achieve that in the wifi ap...
do you think it's possible?

Can you describe or better make a diagram of your network setup?

The wifi AP sounds like a dumbAP, so it won't have much visibility on the packet IP address, so it won't be easy to filter the traffic. As mentioned earlier, the best solution in such cases is to create additional SSID/Vlan to separate the traffic.

What I need is isolate my devices from 1 to 25 from the rest of the network, or at least isolate all wifi clients from the network...

I assume the switch is unmanaged and does not support VLANs, furthermore that the openwrt router does not do wifi.

In that case consider isolating your wifi clients from the rest of the network by setting up a guest wifi on a dumb AP

Yes, the switch is unmanaged.. I'll try to create a Guest wifi to see if it works..

Thanks..

It worked like a charm.. Thanks egc..

Cheers
