Belkin RT3200/Linksys E8450 WiFi AX discussion

Hi @daniel the attendedsysupgrade error is still persistent in Luci. Any help with that ?

Try now it has work for me today :slightly_smiling_face:

Do you mean there is a way to save the original firmware in the stock interface?

Cheers.

What's been improved in Wave 2?

Chers.

that's not really what i meant, i just made a backup of the original software in .cfg

but I noticed that maybe thanks to luci attented sysupgrade,

last night by wanting to configure several netword in / etc / config / I lost the interface of the router I reset it behind with the small button and it was repaired with the packages like openvpn upnp etc, which to me reassured;)

just i have make now a sqm test for bufferbloat on fiber optic just on upload is just amazing

ARMv8 is such a big improvement for SQM users that don't want to go with a x86_64 setup.

Cant install LuCI on snapshot. What do I do?

Next time, rather than taking a photo, please copy the text of the error message and post it as preformatted text. This would make your post easier to read and allow quoting from it.

First guess is that you have a master snapshot that is more than a week old, and the default gcc version in master has been upgraded from 8.4 to 10.x, so the libgcc etc. have changed, so most of the installable packages have been compiled with a different version than your firmware.

Youi might need to sysupgrade to the current snapshot firmware version, which has been compiled with the same libraries as the installable packages.

Ps.
And this has nothing to do with RT3200/E8450 specifically...

It's definitely "thanks to sysupgrade".

Attended sysupgrade generates a whole firmware image with the selected tools (e.g. UPnP, OpenVPN) baked in, which persist after a reset. This is one of the reasons why I've been asking aparcar to add a way to inject custom network configs/defaults, so that one could safely tinker with their router, and if the worst happens, a factory reset brings back all the working settings.

I'm getting a crash trying to start batman over adhoc on the 5 GHz radio. (using adhoc for compatibility with ath10k devices running ct firmware). The crash occurs immediately during bootup. pstore dump is attached below.

@mk24 Please report your finding on https://github.com/openwrt/mt76/issues
The pstore logs you provided are probably useful for developers @nbd or @ryderlee1110 and others who might not be reading this thread.

@mk24 can you add printks in mt7915_mac_sta_remove() to see which line causes crash?

That would require editing the source code and rebuild?

I'm having hard time with my E8450 running snapshot (OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r17342-98bccdafd7 / LuCI Master git-21.223.61040-6045f58). After working for a day or two it boots into recovery and then it stays there unless I power cycle the device. I tried updating the snapshot to the latest one using Attended Sysupgrade but I keep getting below message.

I tried adding the log files to here but it has more than 32000 characters which is the forum limit. How should I upload the logs here?

Any suggestions?

Bob

Please dump the pstore content once the device reboots into recovery. In SSH console do

cat /sys/fs/pstore/*

If the log happens to be too long, only post the end of it showing the actual Kernel crash.

Sure, I will wait for this to happen next time and get the requested details. Is there issue with attended system upgrade server? I am still getting the above error from any broswer and even from multiple PCs.

This server is working for me (I don't have my RT3200 yet)
