Basic VLAN trunking questions, OpenWrt and TP link switch

In the OpenWRT router I created these VLANs in the switch and I created the four interfaces for those VLANs. Notably if I plug into port 2 on the OpenWRT router I get issued DHCP on the 10.99.13.1network and I can get the OpenWRT web UI on 10.99.13.1.

On the switch I'm plugging tagged port 2 to trunk these networks to OpenWRT tagged port LAN 1. After I do that I plug a laptop into port 9 and I get no DHCP and I can't reach OpenWRT if I assign a static address.

What am I missing here?

Changing the trunk cable to crossover didn't change anything, and I get link lights with either cable so I think the switch supports internal crossover.

You need to go to 802.1q PVID Setting in the tplink switch and change PVID for port 9 into 13.

That is exactly what I missed, thank you. I changed all the 9 and higher ports to the correct PVID and seems things are working like I expect.

Glad it’s working for you.

I did have VLAN intermittent issues with TP Link switches : Refactoring home network - #6 by fodiator

Hope the TP Link switches have improved…
