Banana Pi R2 with intel ax200 "m2-pcie adapter"?

My poor wndr3700v2 can't keep up any more and since open hard & software have thought me so much, I feel obligated to buy something that at least leans towards "open'ish".

An banana pi r2 came to mind.
There is a mini pcie ac-module, however I found this m2-mini pcie adapter with a intel ax200, which seems to fit if you break of the upper thingy on the adapter.

Is this a viable combo alternative? Or are drivers and such far, far away?
And then it's the question if the intel ax200 would do good in a 24/7 environment.

Thoughts?

Intel wireless cards do not support AP mode (at least not in the 5 GHz band).
