Hey so I am trying to figure out if Netcom routers are supported with OpenWRT.
The site is linked here Netcom and I believe that they use a Broadcom chip but not 100% sure on that as there is little information on this.
There is currently a lot of people in Australia with Netcom hardware so if it's possible to address this future people may find this thread helpful.
Unless you're on cable, you should be able to replace it ?
The above thread basically says support for Netcomm is too hard .....
That's why OP was asked what kind of connection they were referring to.
Is HFC an ethernet cable passed to your apartment? Then buy a non-broadcom OpenWrt supported router and forget the worries.
HFC means there's a cable modem in your home ?
HFC stands for Hybrid Fiber Coax - so yes he has a modem connected to what was a originally installed as cable TV.
The inside side of the modem is Ethernet.
I have the same service.... and bought a OpenWrt One router to replace my Netcomm NF20Mesh router.
ok, modem stays, anything behind it is replacable ...
Yes.
The modem belongs to the NBN (National Broadband Network) and stays with the premises ....
