I tried Luci and Asus rescue.
I only managed to bring it to failsafe mode.
On old instruction
is specified to cut the first Bytes
How do I determine how many bits need to be removed?

After update router boot only rescue mode
I tried with Asus original and Merlin firmware.
Router works now, only with OpenWRT firmware
If you use a console cable you'll be able to see what's stopping the flash. Do you have one of these?
I didn't go inside the router, I wouldn't want to get there
