Hi. I just bought a new ASUS RT-AX59U. I installed OpenWRT and it seemed too professional to me. For this reason, I want to go back to the original firmware, but the ASUS Firmware Restoration software is not successful.
After uploading the firmware file, the software fails. I have tried IP addresses 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.50.10. No other device is connected to the router. However, I could not restore the original firmware file.
I leave a screenshot below;

NAND based Asus routers often have the problem that their firmware recovery mechanism doesn't delete/ recreate the UBI volumes, if there are others in its place. You might have to delete/ invalidate them beforehand, check the instructions for other (contemporary) Asus NAND based devices for some hints.
Warning, these aren't instructions, just hints for your further investigations.
If you find the OpenWrt user interface overwhelming, you might be more at home with Gargoyle - there's a beta (but quite stable) release available for the RT-AX59U available here. The "sysupgrade" image can be flashed directly from the OpenWrt flash update function (though don't attempt to preserve configuration settings) as it is built on top of OpenWrt. If you pursue this option, please ask questions about it via the Gargoyle forums rather than here.
You can revert to the ASUS firmware after installing facinstall, I did this a few days ago, you need to download the linked .apk file and install it manually, you won't find it via the regular software install. Once installed the ASUS firmware will install without problem.
