Asus RT-AX53U install on stock firmware error

I followed https://openwrt.org/toh/asus/rt-ax53u to install using mtd-write.

Everything went fine until the next command failed with "unknown option r" for mtd-write

mtd-write -i openwrt-23.05.4-ramips-mt7621-asus_rt-ax53u-squashfs-factory.bin -d Kernel -r

Can someone assist?

You router is AC53U, you are llucky it failed. Check again and follow proper procedure for hardware.

No my router is AX53U , the title had an error, i changed it.

Try upgrading OEM firmware one by one:

That option means "reboot now" you could omit that as well and type reboot command.

Thank you , i omitted the -r option and it worked after i did a manual reboot

I used it with OEM firmware thru some upgrades, then installed OpenWRT, it certainly had -r option. If you have spare time you could determine in which version it appears and add to wiki.

Mine was never used with stock firmware , i just opened the box after a year sitting in a corner to finally install openwrt

Or just add the following in the wiki:
Some versions of mtd-write dont have the -r option and you get an error , in that case you can omit the -r option in the command and reboot manually afterwards"

I dont edit wiki, your wording is nice, add it to the documentation request I just added to make things faster rolling,
