Asus RC-AC51 vs ASUS RC-AC51U?

Hi,
I just purchased Asus RC-AC51, while I noticed only ASUS RC-AC51U is supported (https://openwrt.org/toh/asus/rt-ac51u)
ASUS RC-AC51U - https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RTAC51U/specifications/
ASUS RC-AC51 - https://www.asus.com/Networking/RT-AC51/specifications/

Anyone knows please if the firmware is compatible between those two versions please ?
Thank you.

RT-AC51 looks to be a new product. Is there an FCC ID number printed on underside?

Do you mean this ?

As there is no FCC ID, it is not for USA.

Referring to the Asus links you provided, both routers have different size flash memory. The old 51U is also powered by MT7620A SoC, where as your screen dump suggests the newer 51 is powered by MT7628.

Unlikely image for RT-AC51U will work on RT-AC50 imho.

Thank you...that's bad. Only one letter of difference ;-(

Hi @shaarkys, @bill888 , you seem to indicate that RT-AC51 will not work (at all?), but at the same time you are pasting output of commands from such an RT-AC51 as if you had successfully flashed this router. Can you please let the world know here what does and what doesn't work for you on the RT-AC51, and how did you make it work? Thank you!!

This was just from the command line via SSH on original fw....

I suggest to create a new topic under developement category, I think the model RT-AC51 is somehow an enhaced european version of the RT-AC51U.
