Hi all,
I am running an Aruba wifi mesh at my home with an AP11 as the main AP connected to the switch and a few AP11D as mesh points. Recently I chanced upon a few more AP11D but for some reason there were only the boot loader on them and no firmware.I would like to take the opportunity to install OpenWRT on all the APs.
I managed to install OpenWRT on the AP11Ds. The problem I ran into was in the new AP11D the new bootloader does not have "mboot" built in. I was able to resolve the issue by following Aruba IAP 11 apboot downgrade / Invalid Instant Small Business image. This required modifying the contents of the onboard flash memory with contents from an AP11D with an older bootloader.
Now my issue is I want to flash OpenWRT on the main AP, AP11 with the newer bootloader. But I do not have an AP11 with the the old bootloader for the procedure. I was wondering can I follow the same procedure when it come to flashing the AP11 as oppose to AP11D? Also how can I do so without a dump from an AP11 with an older bootloader?
Thank you.
