helo
is it possible to support to tp-link mr600 v1, as the next recision v2 already supported .
Seems doable, but I guess no one bothered
i already read it , the support there was how to go back to original frimware, as the person tried to use v2 before, and broke his router.
thank you
I'm aware, but at least we know it should doable.
You own the device, you want it added, it's up to you to make it happen.
v2 supported , and the downloads of kernal.bin, factory.bin, ans sysupgrade.bin for it are available here :
https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=23.05.2&target=ramips%2Fmt7621&id=tplink_mr600-v2-eu
While V1 ARE NOT available , any suggestions ?
dear frollic,
thank you for support, and reply
i need to ask you, can i download factory.bin of v2 router and upload it to v1 router without any editing ?
i have a ttl adapter and i know how to use it.
On your own risk.
thanks for your reply, i know it will be on my risk, but should i do any edit to header address or something els before ?
tp-link usually have an ID that needs to be set, for it to accept the image, look into tp-link safeloader.
Yes, I was also interested in this, as far as I remember, in the end I bricked my device, they helped me restore it. But further, yes, as I understand it, few people are interested in this.
Good day to all the brilliant minds behind OpenWRT!
I am still hopeful that the OpenWrt community especially the maintainers will continue the development and testing to support TP-Link Archer MR600 v1.
At the moment we are still experiencing auto reset issues for this modem/router, and TP-Link doesn't have a concrete fix yet. I already tested different versions/releases of stock firmware for this hardware and still had no luck.
Our only chance and savior probably will be from the OpenWrt Firmware.

Thanks,
Issues with the OEM firmware are off-topic here, as none of that (neither the bug, nor potential fixes) applies to the respective other code base.
