Adding OpenWrt support for DIR-3060 - continued

@broly @kar200 @Lucky1 and all -
i still have this dir-3060, not well supported.
questions:
1 - can i 'convert' it to another dir-xxxx model (1360, 26600)?
2 - how to convert?
3- what's the best-supported model? it looks to me the choices are dir-1960 or dir-2660

thank you
!!!

The short answer would be "no", the longer answer would involve "doing that wouldn't improve the support status at all, otherwise it would have been done already).

well what work I did do is still setting there
but really it needs someone who has one
to polish it off & submit it into openwrt

anyone is welcome to take what's there and finish it

I'm still waiting for a really basic pull request to pass
it's been sitting there for nearly 6 months
so I have some what lost interest in doing anything atm

thanks - cloning your git now and i'll do some work

That was quick!. By the way if this will be sent for review as a pull request you "or whever is doing it" should change the led lights definitions. Remove them from leds file and add them as triggers.

i.e.

		wlan2g {
			label = "blue:wlan2g";
			gpios = <&gpio 4 GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW>;
			linux,default-trigger = "phy0radio";
		};

This phy radio worked for me although the lights do not flash and but still come on or go off if the wireless is active/inactive

@kar200 -
im just getting to building now.
where do i put the code for the led trigger?

You can have a look at the dir-853 DTS to and adapt it to yours.

You don't need it by the way it was only in case you (or someone else) tries to add it to the official openwrt.

@Lucky1 -
i cloned your git - thnk you ! - but get this error trying to make for dir-3060-A1:
Makefile 'package/feeds/packages/bluld/Makefile' has a dependency on 'kmod-leds-uleds', which does not exist
this occurs from the default config.
it builds an image without luci.
if i add luci via menuconfig opton, i can't build.
any hints?
thanks.

I'm not sure what it was but there have been a few updates
I did a quick & dirty update of the dts it compiled here ok

but I can't test it & lots changed around wifi & mac addresses
see if this helps & compare it to your own

@lucky1 -
i will give this a try. my build setup is 'not fast' and i will report as soon as i have something.
thanks so much

Hello.
Is the support topic for DIR-3060 dead or is it still valid?

this needs someone who owns a device to polish what's been done
& submit it into openwrt
if done soon it may even make V22 branch

I am currently using this router with original firmware but I have a Turris Omnia in my drawer so I can swap. I will then have a free DIR-3060 for experimentation :smiley:

Hello.
I already have this device available for testing. Where to start? Will I need to connect to the console and disassemble the devices?

Hi Dario
I don't have this device but one close
I have started to make a version
you are welcome to take what i have started and finish it if you want
best thing is to open it & get to it's console
load up the initramfs image into ram & backup you unaltered flash
i never got feed back on the last version so i don't even know if it booted

@Lucky1 - @DarioX7
i was never able to build from the git - but i have the dir-3060 and if either of you build an image i'd be happy to continue to test
thanks

as i don't have this device
it really needs someone with one to take over & polish off the device's support

I installed a USB-UART converter, it is difficult to open the casing of this device.
