I have had this previously working on Ver 19.7.2, I updated to Ver 20.0.2 and found it to be slow so dropped to 19.07.8 and have setup the network share according to the screenshots attached. However I still get access denied.
you get access denied where ?
you could try the force root option, it helped in another thread just yesterday.

I was trying from a windows pc to access a usb hdd on my BT Home Hub 5a router. I tried with numerous options, however, the FORCE ROOT option is the only one that has made it work. Interestingly I don't remember using this option in Samba 3 or earlier versions of Openwrt.
