A tutorial on a ksmbd setup?

Is there any step-by-step tutorial on setting up a ksmbd server on an OpenWrt router? It would start with installing the relevant packages.

So far I've found:

• https://openwrt.org/packages/pkgdata/luci-app-ksmbd : A "package" page.

• https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Linux_Kernel_Server : A sort of "how to" but not for OpenWrt.

• Ksmbd (Samba3/4 alternative, ex cifsd/smbd) package support thread : Said to be "official"; but can't be what I am looking for as the string "opkg install" does not occur once in this long document.

You can follow this guide and instead of samba install luci-app-ksmbd and optionally for W10 share discovery wsdd2.

Thank you. But I have this problem: My LuCI does not have a tab (section, or item) called "Mount Points." Does it appear once I have installed luci-app-ksmbd?

My router is: my TP-Link C7 version 5

The bin file I used: openwrt-19.07.7-ath79-generic-tplink_archer-c7-v5-squashfs-factory.bin

This from the page you linked seems to be the answer:

Mount points is only visible if dependencies are already installed.

I will let this comment stand for any complication someone might point out and for information to anyone landing on this page.

Should appear after you installed + reboot:

kmod-usb-storage
block-mount
