Hi, I’m searching for 5g router, anyone can suggest me the best router which support openwrt? Best mean = install and working with openwrt without no problems
Also a proprietary usb key inserted in a openwrt router can be a good solution even i prefer
- openhw router with openwrt +5g (but I think it didn’t exist)
- closed-hw router with openwrt +5g
- closed-hw router + closedhw usb dongle 5g openwrt
https://toh.openwrt.org/?view=hardware put LTE in the modem column.
I have found also this
Just a question: will support 5g european?
ask the seller, but it doesn't ship with a 5G modem, it's just capable of hosting one.
it's also not supported by openwrt, "openwrt" is in this case a vendor SDK, support was discussed in Huasifei WS1688 Ip-full is crashing on OpenWrt 22.03, but it seems in was never completed.
if you're fine with an external modem (and use pretty much any router with an USB3 port to host it), have a look at the USB-C powered ZTE F50.
Thanks, the problem is, I only found this router with usb3 support
AsiaRF AP7621-IL1
and is unavailable on network.
are you looking for unsupported hw on purpose ?
we have no idea where you're looking, but the page you were provided with earlier will also show you devices with USB3 ports.
do your homework.
Another good solution can be.
Standard pc with openwrt, with a low-power cpu + usb3 adapter pcie + usb3 5g dongle/key/soap
you can tether an old cell phone over USB too.
What about this idea…
A qualcomm module+usb3 adapter connected in a “vm router”?
Is not too expensive about 100€
what does those 100€ cover ?
Probably I make wrong calculation. The 5g modules are a little more expensive, about 150€. But even less than bought routers which cost 500€
as suggested earlier, ZTE F50, it's 110€.
