I am using a TP-Link RE650 v1 with OpenWRT Firmware 23.05.0 as access point. At 2,4GHz, it should have 800MBit/s (256QAM). My network sniffer shows only 600MBit/s. Network sniffer is working, it shows 800MBit/s for my FritzBox.
from my perspective 2.4G is limited to 20Mhz due to congestion
and most devices I'll accept low band with "not 5G" are a single channel only anyway
so we are talking 150M vs a possible 200M a lot of these devices IOT are 150M max anyway
so devices that have 256QAM also support 5G and will be on it "433M vs 200M"
so it's only my phone when out of 5G range and at that distance we are talking 25% at a speed of ~75M
it starts limit the case to devote much attention to this
yes it would be nice
but well would it make much difference in the long run ?
but yes I would support these pull requests but it's not up to me
