I guess that everyone who has tried a main snapshot these last months, and a rc recently, has noticed the increased memory use of kernel 5.15. This is to be expected. As it is expected that the future kernel 6.1 will use even more.

Ohhh but my device does not have a option for expandable ram. If i ever run out of ram.

So do mine and all others'.
It is expected that the newer version/kernel uses more memory. At some point one must decide not to upgrade and keep an effective version. OpenWrt allows you to use an old device way beyond what you could expect using the OEM firmware, in term of longevity, security and features.
