I noted a (big) bug (for me) with 23.05.4 on the Archer c2600 with 2.4 GHz Wifi which is putting download speed at half !
In order to verify whether it was my Imagebuilder build I used the sysupgrade file from the openwrt download page as is for 23.05.4 and 23.05.3 (and 23.05.1) without any alterations except for my 2.4 GHz wifi to be tested (standard WPA2 with CCMP/AES).
With speedtest.net:
-> On 23.05.4 I get around 50 MBit/s download (upload limited to 75 MBit/s by the provider).
-> On 23.05.3 and 23.05.1 I get around 100 MBit/s download (and 75 MBit/s upload).
I downgraded to 23.05.3 my (freshly made) Imagebuilder build with my stuff (batman, wpad-openssl and so on) and
-> I still get around 100 MBit/s download speed.
Unfortunately as an average user I was not able to find where the bug could be but maybe you have an idea and it may help other users facing the same issue.
Openwrt is the best ! Looking forward to a solution in the next version
Cheers Blinton.
PS: I need to restart "sqm" manually in order that it works properly for the wifi's, maybe this is due to all the packages I use.
There was a lot of discussion around the wifi bug in the release discussion. OpenWrt 23.05.4 - Service Release
It's a lot to read through, but as brada4 mentioned, it is fixed in the 23.05-SNAPSHOT build. So you can stay on the .3 version until .5 is released, or use 23.05-SNAPSHOT (not to be confused with SNAPSHOT which will be the next 24 release). Personally, i opted to move to 23.05 snapshot because i was lazy and didn't want to downgrade and restore settings. I used auc to do that.
Thanks a lot sirweazel and brada4 ! Somehow I didn't see the thread you pointed to.
Now I'm curious about the 23.05-snapshot
Have a great day !
Cheers Blinton.
