2.5GBE USB NIC Adapter

I'm running 19.07.6 on a mini PC, and the USB NIC adapter seems to work fine, but the below log entry is repeated about 15 times/hour in both system and kernel logs.

It makes the logs pretty useless, as it overwrites useful logs before I get a chance to see them. Any idea how to stop or change the frequency?

Thanks.

Have a look at 2.5G USB->Ethernet, kmod-usb-net-rtl8152?

Yep. I just went back and looked at it again in hopes of finding something I can use.

My situation is a bit different. The adapter works fine. I am not experiencing any connectivity issues, the same notification: "cdc_ncm 3-2:2.0 usb0: 2500 mbit/s downlink 2500 mbit/s uplink:
records continously. I never would have know but for checking the logs for other info. This notification is all that's there. When I run "dmesg | grep usb", it's all that comes up as well.

The adapter is working well, so why the constant notifications?

Is there a way to stop or reduce the frequency of the notifications?

Thanks
keeps recording.

Check if the module accepts parameters using modinfo, might be something in there.

not much:

license: GPL

not sure you're looking at the right module, since the entries are tagged cdc_ncm.

Your right. Initially I ran modinfo against the kmod-usb-net-rlt8152, but the ncm does give much more.

the ncm module says it's dependent on USBNET. The rlt8152 (the chipset in the dongle is actually 8156, which is supposed be part of the 8152 package in Openwrt) was how I initially got the system to recognize the adapter, I assumed the nmc portion was needed to make it actually work...
