Topic: how to compile C file

i have created one package using buildingPackages form openWrt
at last i got the package like in the bin/packages/strace_4.5.11-1_mipsel.ipk
Now my actual question is i have one      socket.C so how to compile this socket.C file using myown build package i dont have any idea why we are making such packages please clarify my doubts and send how to compile my source file using my own package
