Topic: Sveasoft Binaries

How can I extract and use binaries from the Sveasoft firmware under OpenWRT? (the easy way)
I'd like to add support for PPTP client on my OpenWRT, and don't have the means to compile it my self at the moment.
Appreciate assistance! wink

Re: Sveasoft Binaries

Hi,

I'm working on a PPTP server package, but it'a mess, because the kernel must be patch to add MPPE/MPPC (encryption/compression) support to the PPP kernel module. I've managed getting all this work using a custom firmware image :?

By the way, is there a reason why PPP support is not built as a module in the kernel ?

Re: Sveasoft Binaries

As I said in my previous post, the PPP kernel module must be patched to support MPPE/MPPC (and we want "encryption" for a VPN, right). So my question is now :

1) Should the MPPE/MPPC kernel module be incorporated in the firmware image ?

or

2) Should the PPP and related kernel modules be extracted from the image ?

For more informations on MPPE/MPPC on Linux, please have a look at http://www.polbox.com/h/hs001/

I made a pptp-server available for testing. See my post [1] for details...
