Topic: Openwrt support for Huawei HG655b

Hi,

I just flashed 2 HG655D units with a temporary HG655B CFE bootloader, Uploaded OpenWRT and flashed the old HG655D CFE back. And everything seems to work without problems. Just wanted to leave that as note for other HG655(D) users.

Just something I noticed, I've got 2 almost identical units both are version HG655DRZ - VER.A but with 2 different ram setups

1. 32MB RAM (M13S128168A) (Sticker: 1A09LA1)
2. 64MB RAM (M13S256166A) (Sticker: 1A232A1)


Those stickers are placed on 1 of the 2 RAM chips. Don't know if they are used for some kind of identification.

And also another thing:

Does the heatsink on your units also get really hot when running OpenWRT? Like to hot to hold your finger on it for more than 5 seconds?
When I put it in CFE Firmware upload mode (Don't know how its called) It does not seem to get that hot. Ofcourse it won't have that high of a processor load in the firmware upload stage. But once OpenWRT has booted it shouldn't have a high load aswel when idle.

I'm running CC 15.05.1 SMP. Both cores are enabled.

Huawei HG655b
I tried to write softu with the classical method of brauser upload menu.
Unelwe of unknown reasons and was written after I reset menu lam incomplete duar first login page and the rest so nothing goes.
I read on here and I decided to see if undoing speaks TX, RX and Gnd there talking to my joy give more data about continuous seconds.
I gave software Tftpd32_SE Admin bottom of the net and I decided to write to softu by severe local and UART interface tx / rx / gnd but I do not know how to do to be able to stop scrisu because when it says to press a key in seconds he continues to go as well in PUTTY.EXE terminal will not let me type anything
Setra because there afa virtual com port usb rate appears correctly scrisu 115,200 but that gives rooteru but I can not write anything.
I am a beginner and I want to explain to me step by step are serarile and what to write in the terminal so I could write softu and router to revive the place.
P.S.

Rooter duar lit LEDs appear on cable where it is connected to the network and Wi / Fi but he no longer connects to the net appears duar network cable connects with the PC can not get into it at 192.168.1.1 otherwise there all missing menu after login page.

My mistake was that I got a bin on the net saying that it can illuminate the LEDs his www page with a script what I always wanted to be able to turn on / off LED's from the system because every light I put a relay optoculu and activate the plug, light, etc. even if I was not home but it seems that killed router lam did what he had to do in binului description. :]]

Can anyone help me with the info on how to install the openWRT on Huawei HG655B. I tried the easy way described on the wiki openwrt org toh huawei hg655d but in my case do not work. Please tell me in details how to do it. I tried with TFTPD on my Windows 10 but no succes.

I've read Most of this topic but I didn't understand how I can use an 3G USB modem with HG655b. Can anyone to help?

I managed from another site (cannot put link networkingathome.blogspot.ro/2015/09/setting-up-3g4g-modem-with-openwrt-on.html), but steps are next:
- connect with wireless to a wireless network;
- install (from router menu System - Software) packages: kmod-usb-serial-option, usb-modeswitch and luci-proto-3g.
- reboot router;
- Network/Interfaces and click Add new interface - name it UMTS or else and choose from menu "UMTS/GPRS/EV-DO"
- subimt;
- choose at "modem device" option "/dev/ttyUSB0 or 1 or 2" (test which works);
- write apn name - save and apply;
- go to firewall settings and set to wan.

If connection not work you should unplug USB modem and plug it again.
