Topic: OpenWRT invalid security certificate

The content of this topic has been archived on 27 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I am getting a message in Mozilla as follows:

forum.openwrt.org uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate expired on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 7:59 PM. The current time is Wednesday, July 26, 2017 12:36 AM.
Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

Nothing new in that, it is almost an annual event here that admins forget to renew the certificate before expiration.
Last time it happened on last July:  https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=66407

As the forum site also uses HSTS, Chrome and Firefox do not allow creation an exception for the expired certificate.

If there wasn't the merge going on I'd say: Let's set several alarmclocks to now +51 weeks. It's so easy to avoid this...

they are using "let's encrypt" now, so it will automatically renew every 3 months.

On top of that... it's free.

The discussion might have continued from here.
