Topic: Thin Client hacking?

The content of this topic has been archived on 20 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Recently I bought this so called Thin Client:
X1

CPU Model: All winner A20 dual-core 1.2G
RAM: DDR3 512MB
Flash: 4GB

For $30 it has acceptable hardware. The manufacturer (sharevdi) refused to answer my technical questions.

I spent some time in trying to find the pins of the unlabeled UART, but without success.  I need something like that for some small projects and I'm wondering if it worth to waste time to hack it and how it can be done?

Thanks

Very useful resource. Thanks

It looks useful if your device is known, but not mine. I spent half day to add mine:

Now what? :-)

I just need to replace the ugly Chinese "RDP" software with something more capable. I did this many times with routers and OpenWRT and I thought here will be the same, but it looks more complicated with A20

The discussion might have continued from here.
