It has to be incorporated in the design of the chip -instruction). It is not something which can be solved by software afterwards.

thank you for all the help you provided with this thread.

With my Archer C2600, I moved a while ago to LEDE, it worked flawlessly, and it now makes several days I try to go back to TPL Factory firmware with no success.
I tryed flashing factory firmware with TFTP recovery mode, but while booting the routers reset itselfs and keeps rebooting for ever.

I connected serial interface to check what is going on at Boot prompt.

Hereafter I compare both factory boot log available at the beginning of this thread (forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=310048#p310048) and the boot log I get myself after flashing factory firmware.

The differences I identified between my log and the online official log are :

right after :

[    0.488347] Partition(from smem) rootfs -- Offset:3f0000 Size:1b00000

I receive :

Instead of :

Just to check, I updated my US 1.0 model to the newest Factory Image (v 1.1.8 2017-3-10 that they slipped out quietly recently) via TFTP.

It loaded perfectly fine. And I was also able to go back to LEDE 17.01.1 perfectly fine as well.

The new factory image does have a new uboot version, so I was a little concerned, but I wanted to have all the updated code as possible.

17.01.2 is working fine. And dnsmasq 2.77 fixed the Android IPv6 DNS issue as well (the router is now correctly set to be the DNS provider).

I like the newest version of whatever code possible. And as long as they didn't screw up the TFTP recovery portion, you can always go back.

Plus I take care of some other people's routers, so I wanted to make sure the process would all work.

I'm not familiar with the newest oem software. Does it 'lockout' after market software?

It does not. The fix for that was a sizeable patch to how MTD works, and it was only backported to 4.9, not 4.4, so it should be in trunk, but not in 17.01.x. The byte addressing issue affected more devices than just ours.

If you want a snapshot image with it, you'll need to use the unofficial builds on this thread.

May I know what is the difference between superwrt and LEDE?

Does superwrt work the packages in LEDE?

Will there be an official LEDE bin upgrade with the reboot fix for c2600 v1.1?

I got a TP-Link Archer C2600 to work on CenturyLink Fiber using a LEDE build: lede-project.org/toh/hwdata/tp-link/tp-link_archer_c2600

I followed most of the instructions from here: scottrmcclure.com/centurylink/

The ports are not the same on the AC2600 so these are the settings I used:
VLAN ID: 1, CPU(eth0): tagged, CPU(eth1): tagged, LAN 1: untagged, LAN 2: untagged, LAN 3: untagged, LAN 4: untagged, WAN: off
VLAN ID: 201, CPU(eth0): tagged, CPU(eth1): tagged, LAN 1: off, LAN 2: off, LAN 3: off, LAN 4: off, WAN: tagged

Now, I still don't understand tagging but the above works. If someone could double check my settings that would be appreciated.

I'm not including the PPPoE or wireless settings because they're pretty straightforward. The PPPoE instructions are also in the tutorial I followed.

Can I turn off ac2600 remotely over ssh? I tried poweroff and halt commands but c2600 only rebooted.

Hello, I am completely new to openwrt and have a couple of really newbie questions that I couldn't find reading the FAQ (most probably my fault though).

Will my current configuration settings (DHCP tables, NAT rules, etc) be wiped if I flash the new firmware?
In case the answer is yes: I do not have wired access to the router (would need to find an adapter for my eth card), will I  be able to connect through a default wireless network to contol it?

If one is going to install router firmware, of which is the literal gateway to one's digital life (and anyone else behind the router), one had better be 100% sure they can trust the firmware. 

  • For example, someone flashing DD-WRT, LEDE. or OpenWrt doesn't need to know how to read or write code, as there's thousands of others who do that review the source code and final files weekly, if not daily.


It's strongly recommended any users who flashed SuperWRT to flash a different firmware that's opensource, via USB-TTL, not through LuCI or SSH.  Since there's no way to determine if SuperWRT is malicious, as it's not opensource and appears to have copyright protection, and to ensure it's fully wiped, flashing via serial should be performed.

All of your posts on this forum have thus far been about advocating for users to try potentially malicious firmware, and if another post is made advocating the same, I will request to admins for you to be banned.

now that I have more than two routers to test, I have noticed that my tplink cant achieve the same speeds as the others. Is there a setting or settings I should try?

Speeds for what? wired, wireless, VPN?

The NAT speed won't be as high as on stock, because the QC custom HW NAT acceleration isn't being used.

I've bricked my C2600 with LEDE in a stupid way.  sad
Because i had several custom files spread over /etc, /bin, sbin, and some more, I wanted to create a simple backup by scp'ing everything over to my Windows laptop.
When I wanted to drag all folders on the LEDE to my laptop, I accidentially dragged one folder over to another and the SCP client started a MOVE operation. I canceled that directly, and tried to see if I was able to see if anything was moved. But I did not know either source or target and did not see anything wrong.

But after the next power cycle, the router now only has a blinking power LED.  sad
Is there a way to re-flash from this state, where it seems like about nothing is loading/working?

I had no luck with the tftp'ed original tp-link firmware. After that there was only a lede without luci and with an unknown ssh access password. Probably this was a mix of the old and new files.  I uploaded the latest lede-factory bin file instead and now I have a clean working lede again.
