Topic: Can not ping from bridge to Access point

Diagram

INTERNET------->[eth0 192.168.1.5](Openwrt) [ brige br-lan{ip 10.1.0.1} with eth1{ip192.168.10.5} ] --------------------->AP[192.168.10.105]

as my diagram above I need to ping to another class from interface eth1 which is in bridge br-lan.

Question
1. Why I can not ping to my access point ip (192.168.10.105)?
2. I need to setup new class ip from my access point which is not
the same with my dhcp server (br-lan 10.1.0.1). How do i resolve this?

Thank you in advance.

Chuan

Answers:
1 - You cannot ping the AP from the router because they are configured in different networks.
2 - Why do you need to put the AP in a different network?

I don't want to allow client access to my AP.
It 's not security if I put my AP in the same class ip with my clients.

Re: Can not ping from bridge to Access point

I think you want a guest network then.  There would be two local networks, one the LAN for trusted users, and one guest for untrusted.  The guests have a route to the Internet but not to any of the LAN.
