Topic: Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 as Wifi Routed Client loses Inet but Wifi keeps

Hi,

i own an ADB P.DG A4001N1 router which has been running OpenWrt Barrier Breaker 14.07 for some days acting as Wireless Routed Client, which means i have a main ADSL router which second OpenWrt router connects to via WiFi. It's been running fine for some days but yesterday i decided to update OpenWrt firmware to Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 using official firmware build.

I performed a clean install by resetting my custom configuration and the update went fine, but after reconfiguring the router as Wireless Routed Client it always happens that after being operating as Wifi Routed Client for about 2 hours suddenly it loses Internet connection. I say Internet connection because running a ping to google.com from ssh within inside the router doesn't work but if i check through LUCI Network->Wifi it shows the router Wifi is still connected to the main ADSL router.

Does anyone know which checks can i run when it looses Internet connection in order to find what's happening?

I'm also suspicious about being OpenWrt DHCP service's fault as i've seen some clients connected to the ADSL router whose DHCP leases where provided by OpenWrt router. Does anyone know how could i fix this so OpenWrt only provide leases to clients connected directly to it?

This is the files modified by me through LUCI as i've been entirely configuring the router through LUCI:
ddns
dhcp
dropbear
firewall
fstab
luci
network
rpcd
system
ucitrack
uh_t_tpd (I had to add underscores because of the buggy URL detection of the forum)

Re: Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 as Wifi Routed Client loses Inet but Wifi keeps

Pretty strange, same setup in Barrier Breaker 14.07 is working fine without freezes. Any hint would be appreciated. Thx in advanced!

Re: Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 as Wifi Routed Client loses Inet but Wifi keeps

No one is interested on this? Neither developers in order to fix this bug in Chaos Calmer?

Re: Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 as Wifi Routed Client loses Inet but Wifi keeps

Anybody willing to help?

Re: Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 as Wifi Routed Client loses Inet but Wifi keeps

sibok, it seems, that in repository build Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 there is problem with WiFi, I've seen another forum message. Please, compile actual version of firmware.

I haven't any hint but the same problem with 15.05.1 and the TP-link Tl-MR3220. Testing latest trunk right now

Hi, did latest trunk solve the issue for you? I just installed Lede-Project latest build on a Nucom 5010UN v2 router and configured the same setup and it's also suffering the same issue. Note that Nucom 5010UN v2 is also brcm63xx.

Re: Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 as Wifi Routed Client loses Inet but Wifi keeps

Same problem on Dlink 2740B F1 with atheros wifi module. Chaos Calmer 15.05.01 (and 15.05) drop the connection. With Attitude 12.09 work without any problems for many months

Re: Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 as Wifi Routed Client loses Inet but Wifi keeps

Hi, i've just filed a bug at Lede Project [https://bugs.lede-project.org/index.php … ask_id=665] so it would be nice if you could register there and answer explaining what happens to you and also providing the system an kernel logs once the router looses connection. Logs can be found through Luci web interface, under status menu.

For those who don't know what Lede is, it's a fork and replacement for OpenWrt as there, Lede developers are more actively developing and fixing bugs to improve the project as it looked OpenWrt was nearly dead when talking about development.
