Topic: ZBT-WE826 / new hardware / DTS file help

The content of this topic has been archived on 18 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hi there,

We are working on getting a build together for a new piece of hardware: ZBT-WE826.  There is a wiki about it here:  http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/zbt/we-826

It looks like there are some patches out there, which I have not been able to get to run and others are commenting the same as well:
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/19996

patch: https://dev.openwrt.org/attachment/tick … port.patch

I contacted the manufacturer and he gave me a DTS file to try and use to create the build.  However, I am not familiar with how to apply this file.

Can anyone either:
1) shed some light on how to build for this hardware,
2) explain how I should be using this DTS file?

Thanks!

Hey buddy. Good work. But I have one question

How did you 4G modul working? I tried compiled from trunk, snapshot from download page, but there is 4G modul not working

Hi,

I'm using a ZTE MF680, and a SIERRA AIRCARD 312: they work ok.

My adapter are on usb port. For 4G there is no difference. Just try it.

If you need a specific module for a specific mini pci express card please tell me, so I can add it.

Note: I cannot find the specific kernel version used for repository for Chaos Calmer:
even if i use the 3.18.23 the sign is different.

Dear Francesco!

Great job! Works very well with my Huawei modem. Overall very feature-rich fw!

Thank you very much!

Dear friends, use via web-mode flash-update firmware:  xiomi mini made by Padovan.
It work already two mounts for me very wel.

Francesco - Thank you for the offer.  I would like to try it with my ZBT WE826T and Sierra MC7455.  Specifically, I'm hoping QMI mode will work.  Can you please give me a link to an image?  Also, if you're willing, can you link to the source you built from (including your custom patches) so I can make a few adjustments?

Hello francescogmb.  I have the WE826 running nicely apart from one issue with your firmware.  On boot it detects the USB modem and creates the interface.

I set APN and it connects fine.  If I reboot however the APN is lost.  I need to enter it again every reboot.  Is there a way to manually set it? Is it possible the whole interface is overwritten every boot?

#### Ignore that. Adding APN to the modem info page fixes the issue.

sorry, forget ... huawei me909 is supported already smile
i only had to change few things on modem config scripts.

1 more ... on this build the MMC (sdcard) is not possible to be mounted as read-write ...
tried everything .. but it must be related to this build, as it was working with another openwrt build.

any ideas ?
are you also having sdcard slot to test ?

that is amazing, great stuff !!

in my case, i deleted packages for "sdhc" and now i can't install packages from
chaos_calmer/15.05.1/ramips/mt7620/packages/packages/

is there a git for your version ?
or is that possible to combine with packages to install afterwards ?

or anywhere where i can get the eaxct built packages ?
as i got:

Installing kmod-sdhci (3.18.23-1) to root...

Collected errors:

Hi.. anyone still had the Ext-ROOTER / Chaos Calmer 15.05 firmware from franscescogmb? If yes, could you share it with me, please..
I have trouble with the trunk firmware, its not quite stable for my WE826 and I couldn't get the USB storage package installed. Thanks..

UPDATE:
My friend had a backup copy of the firmware. If want to try it, you can download it here: goo.gl/kdjQDU
Cheers..

Dear "coolraghav", i m using this: //bitbucket.org/padavan/rt-n56u/downloads/
and work for me so long, so i even not thinking about other firmware. Use last update for RT-AC51U or RT-AC54U and you be very hapy.  Cheers.

Do you have a list of settings for the RT-AC54U firmware on the ZBT WE-826T?

I just upgraded to that firmware and in USB settings the MC7455 is showing up.  It tries to get an ip address but fails.

Please be patient with me its my first time attempting any of this..

Thanks
