Ok smile thanks for explanation, so what can be done ? smile need to install a special package ?
That's not a big deal about led, the biggest issue i can have is that SIM issue.

Does LEDE can be used for VPN lan to lan or client to lan ?
Thanks.

Just added a feedback, SIM card issue didn't happen yet smile (so maybe upgrade from official to upgrade android board was the good thing to do) smile

could someone tell me how to install lede in mr200, i have that router, i am trying to use tftp.

who could tell me how much?

please

Hi just bought Archer MR200 and flashed lede to it works like a champ, except port forwarding just like the oem firmware.
Have set wan to static 192.168.225.100 stil no luck plz help

@chybber, i didn't succeed too, surely missing something sad

Good. I installed LEDE splitting and joining the firmware files and then tftp. It seems to work.
Is there any way of extracting the firmware of the 4G modem from the vendor's firmware and flash/update it directly from LEDE?
Additionally, I found, doing "adb shell" and "netstat -natup" that the web server (h ttpd) that serves the web interface of the 4G modem is listening on all interfaces. Even if we set a password for it, I think it should be better to listen on the internal interface only (bridge0).

Hi All,

Unfortunately I bricked my router! I'm following the instructions at:
https://pwassi.privatedns.org/lede/archerc20i/

This is for a similar router the Archer C20i

Does anybody know the correct dd command to extract the config & settings for the MR200? So basically I have at the moment:
dd if=mr200_original.bin of=mr200_configs.bin bs=64k count=3 skip=125

I've based this on the flash layout, so just hoping somebody could confirm. It looks like there is no "rom" only "romfile".

This is for the C20i but would it be the same for the MR200?

You can do the upgrade (but backup your setting before.)
On my side the upgrade didn't auto restore the setting and i must restore it manually smile
About the mac adress i don't know sad

Hi smile

@Heinz
I have tested the original firmware, like now i can have unlimited data for the weekend and the SIM not found didn't happen.
So it seems to happen with LEDE (randomly) but it happen so i don't have the real clue of this but maybe it's related to enable the httpd service from android card ? (like no clue, i don't know where it comes from).

With original firmware, i can't ping 192.168.225.1 but no webpage available, so original firmware talk directly to the android card without the httpd enable.

I'm maybe wrong but could be nice to do it differently ?

Can someone help? I have the EU version 1 of the MR200 and mainly I use it with a 4G simcard. The current provider here in Greece has locked the router so you can use only their network using a custom firmware that does not allow the upgrade or use of a tplink firmware if you try to upgrade through the routers web interface.

Can someone tell me if there is a way to remove the existing custom firmware and install the originalfrom tplink using TFTP recovery?

Thanks!

try with wireshark connected to port1 to see the requests comming from router for firmware name wink

I got a MR200 from an ISP on Spain (AC750 Wireless Dual Band 4G LTE Router
Archer MR200, it's the official name)

The ISP is using their own firmware on the router, named FlyBox (but the hardware is just the same, it's the official router from TPLink), and it really sux (full of bugs, etc)

I want to put at first stock firmware from TP-Link, I downloaded it from official web and removed the header of tplink and the lte firmware, I got a file of 8000 kb (bootloader 128kb + firmware 7872kb).

Tried to flash by tftp (because via web, the flybox software won't allow to do that), but it just tries to get the file until 10 retries and then starts to boot normal.

I tried many tftp servers on 3 diferent pc's, is not firewall problem or something, I think also the software from ISP is protecting to make this.

Also when router boots, from putty via serial it says:

Archer MR200 login:

I can log in with user "admin" and pass "1234"

My question is, what I can do to flash bootloader and firmware, any ideas?

Thanks!

Here is Your problem:

Listening On: 192.168.0.66:69
Client 192.168.1.1:1040

Change Netmask to 255.255.254.0 because router have IP ( 192.168.1.1) from another subnet than TFTP server (192.168.0.1).

Omg, what a noob, you are right, changed mask and it worked, thanks a lot

I have 1 problem more, I flashed the file I done of 8000kb, and after the router restarted, I see the blue web interface of TP-Link, but also mixed with Orange/green from the ISP interface. It's like I need to flash something more, also in the menus I see the same bug errors that had isp firmware, and I still can't upgrade firmware via web interface (not allowing the official file, like before), any extra idea?

Look, 3 screenshots from the interface here

EDITED: I did search in google images the web interface of MR200 and seems all is OK, it have orange and green in some submenus. I did a factory settings, and SSID changed from flybox to tplink, all seems working OK except I can't upload a firmware from web inferface, getting error 4503.

Maybe is because I'm already in latest version? I try to downgrade to another official firmare and can't.

Hi there, I am trying to set up my tp-link router as LTE modem. I'd like it to bridge data to my 2nd LAN connected router which going to handle all the WiFi, DNS, and NAT. I've tried to just plug it into the LAN port and while it works fine, I am getting double NAT error in PLEX since both modem and router have NAT enabled. Any idea how can I have Openwrt in bridge mode? I've read something about Dumb AP but not sure if fits my need that? I know it should be straight forward but am pretty new to all this, appriciate your help.

**Model:** TP-Link Archer MR200
**Firmware Version:** LEDE Reboot 17.01.0 r3205-59508e3 / LuCI lede-17.01 branch (git-17.051.53299-a100738)
**Kernel Version:** 4.4.50

Hi again,

I want upgrade the firmware of the LTE modem. If I do recover via tftp skipping only the header, I mean a bin file with bootloader+firmware+lte modem firmware, it will work to upgrade the lte modem?

Hello everyone!

Im rather new to LEDE, but i managed to flash and set it up properly. The only thing that i am really struggling with is to set port forwarding correctly. And yes i tried to connect from another ip to my router and yes i double checked the entries. I also tried to use iptables, but i cant get any port to open. If anyone would help me that would be highly appreciated. Or is Portforwarding still broken in 17.01 release AND Snapshot?
Attached you find my screenshots and the firewall settings:

@marvx try change WAN interface in LuCI to static and set:
IP 192.168.225.100
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.225.1
dns 192.168.225.1

does wan interface have to be green or red after the changes

Color does not matter. On default settings is red.

do i have to click on connect after changing the serttings or not?

You can click. This only restart this interface.

ok i tried, still no luck to get ports open.....would it eventually be possible to use teamviewer, so you can see the site yourself?
