Has anyone managed to access the drive over WiFi/LAN while it is plugged into another device (like a TV for instance) via the USB cable?  For me it's one or the other and I'm trying to work out if it's a software limitation or a hardware limitation.

Max108: I think it is a hardware limitation I ask the seller when I test with the original firmware.

I try to compile my own openwrt for this drive because th firmware provide in the first post did not have hard drive support but i always have some error last one is in relation with this patch:
050-gcc-6-compile.patch(sorry could not put the link)

But I did not find this file what did I miss ?

thanks

That's a pity, but thanks for the info. Looks like I'm going to have to rethink.

Hi there nice to meet you guys, I'm new here, I've just bought my new U25AWF but wifi won't turn on from new, and the chipset is different MTK MT7620A not N, does anyone here could help find out what's happen with my stuff?

Is that possible to flash firmware via LAN port on U25AWF? since no wifi detection

I installed the later image from the post of prisoner1969 on my Kimax. All went OK, but I did set my Kimax in relay bridged mode and I do not have IP address on the LAN or WLAN interfaces - I do not have access to the web setup anymore!

Apart from that the KIMAX work amazingly well as bridged AP under OpenWRT - gave me 65 M bits/s.

When trying the standard OpenWRT "factory reset" procedure I see the message: "Msg from 192.168.1.1: Please press button now to enter failsafe!" (using recvudp.exe utility) from the Kimax (IP address 192.168.1.1) . Unfortunately when I press the button on the back - nothing happens, the boot process completes and my Kimax goes to a bridge mode.

Any attempts to SSH / TELNET to 192.168.1.1 are not successful.

Please - any help will be highly appreciated. Is there a way to get a serial port  - which pins shall I use?

Где искать проблему?

Hi all,

I just rewrote the patch and it works with latest openwrt trunk. I also submited pull request at github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/380

(Last edited by danman on 8 Feb 2017, 22:21)

here is my compiled binary:
goo.gl/CtK3Bk

the firmware also works on U35WF (MT7620N chipset), both internal drive and externally connected USB drives work OK

I achieved transfer speed 6MB/s via wifi and 8.8MB/s via ether using samba reading from internal SSD

Thank you try.
Do I understand correctly, it is a replica of flash memory?
Or, update the firmware?

It's firmware update. Do you need full flash?

Thank you .

Hello. Bought kimax u-35wf. Everything works but little speed WiFi (1,5mb / s). Tell me dear danman, your update will help to solve my problem?

Hello. Very confused.
I have a BS-25awf CPU mt7602a what firmware openwrt fit? Board U25AWF-7620A-1153-v2.0.

I sorry The situation is this. If  connect directly to Kimaksu via WiFi is the speed of copying from a disc 6.5 Mb / s. If kimah connected to another router through WiFi the speed of the disc has 1.5 Mb / s. At the same time the normal speed of the Internet in both cases (10Mb / s) It is possible as that correct?

Dear danman, would be possible to share patch and config files to recompile your work with some small changes I wonder to make?

I received from friends from China new firmware 1.4.0. But the works also. Speed WiFi 1,5 Mb/s

Did you finally solved it? I have similar problem and I do not know what to do.
I read somewhere that it should be possible to connect with TFTP few seconds after router is turned on (during the u-boot start).

Does anybody knows if it is possible?

Also, can anybody post here values of "ipaddr" and "serverip" for u-boot on this device?
