Topic: Not allowed to mention links in posting ?

The content of this topic has been archived on 28 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello,

I wanted to post a question on a openWRT wiki page but I'm not allowed to post a link here.
How can I tell the forum about which wiki page I'm talking  about ?

Warning! The following errors must be corrected before your message can be posted:

Too more links in message. Allowed 0 links. Reduce number of links and post it again.

Maybe it is now denied to new users, because of spam. It has been discussed here: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=67090

Maybe after some period and/or certain number of posts, you will be allowed to post links, but you should be able to post unclickable link (without http) like wiki.openwrt.org/toh/start which has no value for spammers.

Have you really tried to post the link as plain text same as in my example? You can also try xttp:// instead of http. Post a screenshot - if spammers are allowed and normal user are not, this should be resolved ;-)

I meet this , too

i'm also can't post with URL link

what can i do to abolish this measure?...  where are the forum rules posted?

3 more post and i am in the go... i think maybe you must have 10 posts as said a guy in another post

still no official rules post, nor a way to override this restriction (2 to go)

about this restriction.....  i think is not effective

in fact can be counterproductive as new members feel pushed to post dummy messages just to get ride the restriction, contributing to fill the forum

... just like this message (1 to go!)

Since this restriction is in place, we had zero spam postings, AFAIK. I would call this effective.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem, but I'm not trying to post a link. It seems I cannot post a word "u h t t p d" (without species).

I fully agree! Security is very important. Is there a list of forum rules somewhere?

The discussion might have continued from here.
