Topic: NBG6716 Radio1 not detected

Hi guys,

i've bought three Zyxcel NBG6716. Two of three devices works without problems, but one of these devices is not possible to detect Radio1 with 5GHZ. With the original Zyxcel Firmware wifi works perfectly. I've used  BARRIER BREAKER (14.07, r42625) firmware. I hope you can help me. thx

Apologies for bumping this old thread, but I have the exact same issue. I have tried both Chaos Calmer 15.05 and 15.05.1, but none of them make the 5GHz radio work. The dmesg output is nearly identical to the one posted earlier.

I have now reverted back to the stock firmware, and the radio works just fine there.

Any pointers?

hi, i've got my zyxel nbg6716 running stable on CC15.05.1 since it was released - without 5Ghz.
so there are indeed some problems with the 5GHz radio - not as severe as you describe but often the 5Ghz would not come up/die inexplicably.

last month i changed the radio firmware to this version

and it's been running stable since. but not in every mode/channel it seems.
i set a fixed channel and 20Mhz bandwidth and that seems to work.
