Hi there,

so finally i managed to get a working version of OpenWRT/PandoraBox on my Xiaomi Mini Router.
I'm using the firmware version OpenWrt/PandoraBox 14.09 r1696 / LuCI (0.12+git-4d0a20b).

So i updated the package list since the old packages were on pandorabox.org.cn which is not available.

Here are my sources:

src/gz 14.09_base http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ramips/mt7620/packages/base
src/gz 14.09_management http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ramips/mt7620/packages/management
src/gz 14.09_luci http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ramips/mt7620/packages/luci

src/gz 14.09_routing http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ramips/mt7620/packages/routing
src/gz 14.09_telephony http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ramips/mt7620/packages/telephony

But unfortionaly when i try to update using opkg update it shows me this:

Package yate-scripts-perl version 5.5.0-1-1 has no valid architecture, ignoring.
Package yate-sounds version 5.5.0-1-1 has no valid architecture, ignoring.
Package yate version 5.5.0-1-1 has no valid architecture, ignoring.

OpenWRT:/$

and i cannot install any package.

Can you guys may help me? I really do not know what the error could be since the sources are correct.

Thank you very much!

I would guess it is your best chance, I am also guessing that it will not work. Best would be to flash your device with an actual OpenWRT release, v15.05.1 if available https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/xiaomi/mini.

https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_cal … ps/mt7620/

I guess openwrt-15.05.1-ramips-mt7620-xiaomi-miwifi-mini-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

openwrt-15.05.1-ramips-mt7620-xiaomi-miwifi-mini-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin fully crashed the system.

After upgrade the router stopped working and was dead.

What i did after that:
Flashed original firmware --> Flashed SSH access -->  Flashed the old version OpenWrt/PandoraBox 14.09 r1696 / LuCI again.

What should i do now? The upgrade did not worked and the distribution feeds are still not working since the host is not available anymore.

src/gz 14.09_telephony http://downloads.openwrt.org.cn/PandoraBox/ralink/packages//telephony

src/gz 14.09_management http://downloads.openwrt.org.cn/PandoraBox/ralink/packages//management

This is how my feed looks like.
Update worked, however the thing i want to install - wifidog - does not exist.

I am sorry to hear that.  This firmware did not crash my system. However, I went from factory->Chaos Calmer and not StrangeOrange->Chaos Calmer. How did you perform the upgrade? Did you use tthe sysupgrade -n option?

Hi,

Yeah I used the option which was on the wiki.

Edit: Also tried to flash directly through the firmware. Also crashed my system, only showed me the red led after the flashing process hmm

Hi,

Not sure which Wiki you are referring to. The Wiki here only shows the -v option. The -n option is needed as well since you want the upgrade mechanism to overwrite, and not save any of the configuration files from StrangeOrange when you upgrade to Chaos Calmer.

Just want to be certain about your sysupgrade procedure since I may want to upgrade to a future OpenWrt release from StrangeOrange and would like to know if I am going to have problems,.

No, the Rom from strangeorange works fine. The CC rom did not even worked on the original firmware.

aRandomStranger: I'm a little confused by your reply. Did you use the -n option with the sysupgrade procedure?

No, i used the -v option.
However i also tried to flash it using the original xiaomi rom which also does not work.

Ok, I had a similar problem with v15.05.1 on old WNR1000v2, it was too large for the flash and the nvram couldn't be formatted (yours supposedly has much more flash). I had to build my own image with the image builder to remove some packages. However, v15.05 worked fine on mine without having to image build. Perhaps worth a try?

Still doesn't work. Just red light again.

If you have a serial-TTL cable then you could diagnose why the OpenWRT flash failed and then something could be done to fix that issue. Otherwise I guess you are stuck with what you have.

The discussion might have continued from here.
