Topic: OpenWrt Servers Down - hoping someone can give official news

The content of this topic has been archived on 29 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I created the following ticket at: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/21942

The entire community feels left in the dark. There was briefly a note on the forums that stated there was some kind of server trouble, but that seems to have disappeared.

* The download pages (https://downloads.openwrt.org/) are seemingly dead. I can see the CC builds, but neither trunk nor BB and earlier builds are available.

* The Buildbot page is not operating. (At least, http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders gives Connection Refused)

Is there someone who can take responsibility for telling us where things stand now, and update the community about what's being done to fix things? (And if there are resource constraints, please let the community know - there's probably a lot that can be brought to bear on the problem...) Thanks.

I'm hopeful that someone from the core developer team can give some insight into the state of the servers.

The headlines on https://openwrt.org/ are still *a bit* outdated:

BattleMeshV5

Backfire 10.03.1 final

Backfire 10.03.1-rc6

OpenWrt merchandise

SamKnows to measure European broadband with OpenWrt devices

Backfire 10.03.1-rc5

OpenWrt and Gsoc 2011

Wireless Battle Mesh v4 (16-20 03-2011, Sant Bartomeu del Grau, Spain)

It has always been a stupid system. I figured out a few years ago the logic: the "headlines" is actually "old news" that is pushed away from the center section, where the current items are.

Newest seven (?) news items are in the center, and the older stuff is under headlines.

(well, the "newest items" contains 12.09 release info, so news items are added 1-2 times per year.)

any resources left on a new server to move dev board there too? at the times the page really takes more than 5 seconds to load..

The discussion might have continued from here.
