Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY
I made a big mistake. BIG

I do not see the modem anymore
the syslog shows:
Oct 22 21:12:30 OpenWrt daemon.notice netifd: wan (898): ./hso.sh: eval: line 1: can't open /dev/ttyHS3: no such file
Oct 22 21:12:30 OpenWrt daemon.notice netifd: wan (898): wan (hso): Failed to connect and obtain IP address.

I was trying to install an USB memory stick. I deleted some packages, installed others, rebooted ... and now.. no modem anymore. probably i deleted the packages with the modem.

you are the onyones who can help me. where and how can I reinstall it on my globesurfer 3+
please help. I am desperate !!

Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

just an update.
i have been able to reinstall a working configuration.
1) copied the "original" <file.bin> in tmp directory
2) run the following:

mtd -f -r write /tmp/openwrt-GlobeSurfer3-squashfs.bin linux

now it is back to normal operation.

does someone know how to copy from mtd "linux" to a <file.bin> ?

Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

I am trying to add a usb memory stick but when I run
root@OpenWrt:~# opkg install kmod-usb-storage

I have the following error:

Installing kmod-usb-storage (3.3.8-1) to root...
Downloading http://downloads.openwrt.org/attitude_a … m47xx.ipk.
Collected errors:
* satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for kmod-usb-storage:

* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package kmod-usb-storage.
root@OpenWrt:~#

should I run a "sysupgrade" and try to run "opkg install kmod-usb-storage" again or I risk to to miss everithing again?

thanks again

Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

Is there anyway to reset/failsave GS3 running Openwrt?

Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

Hello.
2 kyklas: Would You be so kind to upload into the cloud openwrt image for GS3 again as this file is unavailable now. I tried to get it from http://d-h.st/25Mm.

I'm afraid the only way to do this is connect it to computer via console cable to get failsafe access.

I have generated an image for GlobeSurfer III/3+. See the Wiki.

I'm testing newer version of OpenWRT on GS because AA is quite old and lack some support.
I have an issue with the support of the modem under Chaos Calmer as netifd has a different behavior than AA or BB.

Thank You so much for Your work but as I wrote earlier I could not download firmware using  Your URL listed in the Wiki. I've got error message on the web page: "File Not Found". As I can't still download, it I'm asking You to upload fresh image again. May be google drive will be better cloud storage for image. Sorry for bothering.

Please see http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/option/gs3? … ed_version
I haven't removed the old URL. The new one is : https://www.dropbox.com/s/voqc52kmd7vwa … s.bin?dl=0

I have GlobeSurfer III so it is suitable for me.

Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

Hello.

I need some help in order to debrick a Globesurfer III router... (Not 3+)

When i plug the power the LAN ports led's lights up for a few seconds, and i have no response from ethernet (ping) or serial connection.
Also some times the display backlight coming on, but without anything in the display.

I tried with JTAG connection and i can see that the CPU is responding...

However i don't have experience with JTAG and i don't know how to preceed...

I tried to backup the CFE section of the flash, but i get the message "Unknown or NO Flash Chip Detected"
I believe that i must somehow tell to the program the address of the flash that i want to dump since the chip is not supported by the software (with /window /start /length options maybe???) but i'm not sure...

Any help please?
Oh and if anyone have a working backup of the CFE i need that too!

Thanks,

Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

please give JTAG pinout, mine is bricked too but haven't even tried without knowing the pins. here you got CFE backup from my GS3 http://www90.zippyshare.com/v/9NKScMup/file.html

Re: 3G / HSPA Router with SIM CARD slot

Hello anarchy99.

Thanks for the CFE backup!

Here you can find the JTAG pinout for the Globesurfer III router:

http://s28.postimg.org/iq5m5hvh9/Globesurfer_3_jtag.jpg

Note that i discovered the JTAG pinout using an arduino as JTAG scanner with JTAGenum software loaded...
You can read more about this here:

https://github.com/cyphunk/JTAGenum

If you have any success flashing your backup to your router please tell us more info!
