I don't think many people are afraid of it being a premeditated scam. It's just that despite their best intentions, some people are overwhelmed and surprised by the amount of unforeseen effort that it takes to go from the prototype to manufacturing at scale. Hopefully it won't be the case here, I certainly wish you all the best.

Thanks.
This is a preferential price. After the campaign,  it back to normal price.
Don't worry about that. Benn has worked at CubieTech before, as people know CubieBoard.

Hope it won't end like FireWrt did: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php … 63#p283363

Anybody can compare the specs - I would guess that the Witi is cheaper because it has less component/features (especially not wiring mini-pcie, NFC, 1x 32pin header).

FireWrt - Witi
512MB RAM       - 256MB RAM
2x eSATA          - 2x SATA
MT6605 (NFC)    - nothing
2x 32pin header - 1x32 pin header
1 mini pcie         - nothing
3 LAN                - 6 LAN
1USB3, 1USB2   - 1USB3
1xtf card            - 1x micro sd
nothing              - 1 RTC

sad

He's kidding sugar. Looks very nice, but I'll be holding out as well (so far my 802.1nn setup is fast enough).

@sugar: power consumption?

It is about power consumption of NAS.

What's the power consumption of the bare system, i.e. without harddisks?

Are the schematics available?
is it more open then cubie-things?
Does WiTi actually do active support or is it up to the users to figure it all out?

Yeah, you can download it from ftp server:
http://ftp.mqmaker.com/WiTi/Docs/Hardware/

It will open whole source code what Mediatek offers include wifi driver.
Actively support it.

Hardware NAT Code for SOC with Integration with OpenWRT?
Dual WAN is awesome but you will never achieve 1/2GBps without Hardware NAT.
