Topic: UDP 255.255.255.255:7423 Connection?

The content of this topic has been archived on 23 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I have a TL-WR1043ND and I can see a strange connection under RealTime Connections.

Network          Protocol               Source                                   Destination                                             Transfer
IPV4               UDP                       192.168.1.141:32770          255.255.255.255:7423                 10.35 MB (54009 Pkts.)

Does anyone have any idea what this is?

It does not seem to belong to a computer on my network?

I don't have it, but 255.255.255.255 is the broadcast address for the 'zero' network. It should be something local.

More info here.

This apparently has something to do with the "Readyshare" protocol (Netgear proprietary?).  Perhaps the computer at 141 has the readyshare client on it and is probing the LAN for a server.

Thanks guys.

I found that 141 is a Netgear WNDR4500 that has been set-up as an Access Point.

I went into the USB storage section in Advance Settings and turned everything off, hopefully this will stop it smile

The discussion might have continued from here.
