Is there anyway to have an openwrt system scan for multiple ssids and connect to any that it has connected to before, like a laptop.

It only looks for the specifically set network, not a "list of known networks" i think the OP refers to.
This is a function i am looking for as well. Meaning it scans for all networks nearby, and connects to the strongest known network, like any other laptop/smartphone etc can do.
