Topic: Router with AP and Station mode, plug type

The content of this topic has been archived on 21 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hi
I am looking for HW with AP and Station mode capability, hackable.
In either AP or Sta mode, it will provide static IP, port setting and TCP protocol to choose.
Because other devices will connect to this HW with particular ip address, port number and TCP.
Appreciate it if someone can tell me.
Plugable type is preferred.

Thanks

You mean integrated power supply and outlet pins?

Perhaps http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr710n (EU version)
Small form factor, 8MB flash and two Ethernet ports.

Thanks for reply.
Yes, integrated power supply and outlet pin.
I have WR71n with me but I cannot set AP with static IP, Port and TCP option. So I cannot use it straight away. I need to hack. But I don't know how to hack.
I am trying to hack and not successful. Stuck at opkg update. Cannot update.

root@OpenWrt:/# opkg update
Downloading http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/packages/Packages.gz.
