Great, thank you for your response hnyman! I will flash tonight.

Also, does your build support UNPNP or will I have to install MiniUPNPD (http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/miniupnpd)?

Thank You!

Upgraded to WNDR3700-trunk-r40361-2014-04-02-1836-squashfs-sysupgrade while keeping settings.

Everything works great! Better then my old original stock trunk. Let's hope the wireless is more stable now on this build.

I ended up resetting to defaults afterwards and re-configured everything just to make sure I have a better baseline.

hello,

I just tried your build for the first time hnyman, it seems pretty good so far, thank you for sharing your work.

I used to run AA build and the wifi transmit power (for the 2.4ghz) had the option 27dBm(501mW). In your build I only see the 26dBm ( 398mW) which is kind of an issue since I have a weaker wifi signal, some of my devices can't connect anymore depending on where I use them. I did not have this issue before. Is there anything you can do about that ?

Thank you
PS: i'm using WNDR3700-trunk-r40380-2014-04-05-1222-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

EDIT : it looks like the issue is that whatever the transmit power being set, it comes back to 3dBm - as displayed in the stats - after about 5 minutes.

hello,
I'm trying to setup usb-audio on the router and faced problems. I followed usb-audio guide, but the sound-card (logitech z cinema) is not detected. I'm using usb-hub to connect both usb-flash drive for ext-root and the sound-card.

root@OpenWrt:~# alsactl init
alsactl: init:1743: No soundcards found...

Thank you!

it seems, usb-audio and sound-core modules are not loaded sad

root@OpenWrt:~# opkg install kmod-sound-core
Package kmod-sound-core (3.10.34-1) installed in root is up to date.
root@OpenWrt:~# opkg install kmod-usb-audio
Package kmod-usb-audio (3.10.34-1) installed in root is up to date.
root@OpenWrt:~# modprobe sound-core
kmod: failed to find a module named sound-core
root@OpenWrt:~# modprobe usb-audio
kmod: failed to find a module named usb-audio

You might need to create your own build and include those Modules in the firmware. They are not in my firmware build, and the compatibility with kmods from a different build is always problematic.

And you should probably write an own forum thread to get more advice. Now your question gets lost here.

Thank you! I will try adding "CONFIG_PACKAGE_kmod-sound-core=y" to the config in your build. But I could not find kmod-usb-audio config entry...

Sure it does, but that has nothing to do with my build itself.
(Actually 40421 fixed trunk, and 40423 fixed AA)

I have removed 40420 download, as a new sysupgrade bug has surfaced between 40392-40420. Currently it is impossible to upgrade using Luci from 40420. See https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/15495

And for the same reason I am not uploading the 40423 version yet :-(

@hnyman
Can you check if these fixes are part of the build your provide us ?
#14153 and #12750

It seems I have this problem currently with your build.

thanks a lot

My build has up-to-date default wifi components, so all changes done to the trunk are present in it.

Wifi driver was updated in the last few days by https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/40393 , so you might test the next build. (I am currently building 40435.)

Hi hnyman is your realtime graph showing?
[Realtime Graphs are not showing from my latest trunk builds.
Never Mind I solved it, I am using lighttpd and svg was not in the mime.conf]
Minidlna is not displayed in LuCI as running although it is.

Okay I'm having IPv6 routing problems. I have Comcast, which finally added dual stack here. I get good IPv6 address on the WAN, the LAN, and all of my computers. I can ping and connect on SSH via IPv6 to the router's LAN interface. I cannot ping the WAN address, nor can I ping ipv6.google.com from the router itself (and obviously I can't connect to the IPv6 internet).

root@openwrt:~# ping ipv6.google.com
PING ipv6.google.com (2607:f8b0:4009:807::1000): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: Operation not permitted

So DNS lookups are working. This looks like a firewall issue, but I also don't have any routes, so it may be that too.

oot@openwrt:~# ip -6 rule

Funny. It was forgotten also 3 years ago. That time I filed a bug about it: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/10016

They recently changed the way lighttpd was packaged and forgot about the svg mime.

That problem is probably fixed with r40440.

Some dual stack problems were fixed today, hopefully yours, too. Test the r40449 build.

I did not notice that with AA40423 (I only flashed the router, but did not do additional reboots after the flashing boot.)
Does the problem materialise on the flashing boot? Or only after subsequent reboots?
Did you test with "basic" wifi network, middle channel, HT20, no encryption ?

The Issue was noticed when clicking restart from Luci web interface.
Unfortunatelly i didn't check with "basic" wifi network, middle channel, HT20, no encryption.
Will do some tests during the week

My esttings are:

config wifi-device 'radio0'

    option channel '6'
    option hwmode '11ng'
    option path 'pci0000:00/0000:00:11.0'

    list ht_capab 'DSSS_CCK-40'
    option txpower '28'
    option htmode 'HT40+'
    option noscan '1'
    option country '00'

config wifi-iface

    option mode 'ap'
    option ssid 'mmNetwork 2.4G'
    option encryption 'psk2'

ehmmm. where did the MAC go?

Nope, same thing. Can't ping ipv6.google.com and can't connect to the IPv6 internet.

The current version of pptp is not functional due to the bug mentioned here: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/15490. Is there a way to fix this for your build specifically or do we have to wait until the package maintainer does something about it?

I use transmission to download. Bittorrent file can be uploaded to transmission. But the download doesn't work. Port 51413 shows closed. Does anyone have the same problem?

I have again bumped up my build environment to a new host, this time Ubuntu 14.04. r40569 is the first uploaded build made on that platform.

The advice on message #2 of this thread is still valid.
The commands I used to move into Ubuntu 14.04 are below.

STEPS 1-5
   13 cd /
   14 sudo mkdir Openwrt
   15 sudo chown perus Openwrt/
   16 chmod 777 Openwrt/
   17 cd Openwrt/

   21 ./WNDR3700-trunk-r40567-2014-04-24-2004-buildscripts.txt
   22 cp newOpenwrtBuildroot.sh newTrunk.sh
   23 gedit newTrunk.sh
   24 cp /media/windows-share/vanhat/WNDR3700-trunk-r40567-2014-04-24-2004*.patch .
   25 chmod 755 newTrunk.sh
STEP 6-9
   26 ./newTrunk.sh
STEP 10
   27 cp /media/windows-share/HNsettings.180114.cpt trunk/files/etc/
VERIFYING STEPS 7-10
   28 svn status
   29 svn status trunk/
   30 rm trunk/newTrunk.sh
   31 svn status trunk/feeds/packages
   32 svn status trunk/feeds/luci
   33 ls -la trunk/*.sh
   34 ls -la trunk/files/etc/

I've been experiencing two issues. The latter is more important.

1) After about 1-2 months of uptime my internet connectivity drops due to this process hogging >99% of my CPU:
odhcp6c -s /lib/netifd/dhcpv6.script -P0 eth1

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm using "Attitude Adjustment 12.09-r38545" on a wndr3800, which is an old release so I decided to upgrade. Which brings me to issue 2.

2) I am unable to do a sysupgrade. I tried twice via LuCi which didn't work (it just rebooted after a few mins). I then tried via SSH and it didn't work either. See the log:

sysupgrade -v WNDR3800-attitude-r40423-2014-04-08-2048-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
Saving config files...

Sending TERM to remaining processes ... 6relayd odhcp6c dynamic_dns_upd dynamic_dns_upd miniupnpd ntpd crond uhttpd vsftpd dnsmasq collectd sleep sleep syslogd klogd hotplug2 ubusd netifd
Sending KILL to remaining processes ... uhttpd
Switching to ramdisk...
Performing system upgrade...
ash: mtd: not found
Upgrade completed
Rebooting system...

I think the key line is this "mtd: not found". As far as I can tell, this is used for writing the image and since I'm missing it, it doesn't write anything to the router.

What's going on and how can I fix this?

---------

On another note, does anyone know if dropbear in AA supports ECDSA keys? I heard the trunk one does, but I'm using AA at the moment.
