please provide patch files..

patch? no patch requerid

:-D

ok then explain how that bin was made!

Yes, patches would be welcome as it is based on 12.09 rc1 and 12.09 final is already out. It would be nice if version 2 were supported by trunk. The file you posted might as well contain some backdoors (even though I doubt anybody would bother).

But I flashed it via the web interface and it works.

Also I would like to install openvpn and it is impossible because of some dependencies. I could make my own build if it were supported in buildroot :-(.

if you have serial console to recover in case of failure, you can try flashing a wr703n image, should be almost the same hardware...

BTW I just tested TL-WA701ND_V2_130425 from tplink.com and works OK on my wr703n, so i'd say that the other way round could also work wink

Yes, it seems to work, thanks for the pointer (even though I do not have a serial console)!

Not installed pptp module((( and why it is used rc1?

flash via serial...

How did You get working input on serial console ? I get only output - I can see kernel messages but I can not type anything. I can not enter to the bootloader, cannot type "tpl".

I've checked my serial adapter - it works on othe router with openwrt.

Hi, I discover egywifi forum which has TL-WA701ND V2 Openwrt and Gargoyle Firmware , but the firmware version is still Release Candicate of Openwrt

You can flash it by use this link : http://yadi.sk/d/n-Y5sXuXJLGLE @credit to shazly00

Flash it by tplink web interface ( not need serial )

I have the dmesg log , and picture of the component  ( Case opened )

Dmesg log = http://pastebin.com/kR5mN2nP

Picture of the component = http://s1282.photobucket.com/user/Sourc … 701ND%20V2

Additional info

When I ask the egywifi for upgrade he says " You can upgrade it by using Mr3020 Sysupgrade file ( Gargoyle MR3020 Sysupgrade file) "

The firmware maybe run from MR3020 openwrt firmware *dmesg check*

How to make TL-WA701ND V2 can be fully supported by openwrt ?

Thanks

Did anyone know what requirements openwrt for fully supported the unit ( TL-WA701ND V2 ) ?

Hi all, what about this router ? Any news about openwrt developing ?

Can I flash it with stable barrier_breaker for 740N ?
I mean this: http://downloads.openwrt.org/barrier_br … actory.bin

BUMP ? no one know ?

I tried to flash the TL-WR740N V4 OpenWRT firmware but I get this error:
Error code: 18005 Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name.

Anyway, use 703n firmware, it's closer in hardware specs

Are you sure is that working ? Wiki reports "the firmware for TL-WR740N v4 seems to work fine"

703n and 740n v4 are compatible too smile
But 740n v4 has 4 port switch, your's doesn't, neither 703n
That's why 703n and 710 are closer in hardware

Done, it works! big_smile

Just the ETH and WIFI leds stay off..

Yesterday I succesfully uploaded an MR3020 image on the WA701ND (v2.1). It works like a charm, I'm now on BB 14.07 !
Does anyone know how to alter the hardware code in the firmware image ? so I can 'make' my router a WA701ND again ?

Nothing to do, I installed 3 of this AP to a friend's house, we flashed last barrier breaker 14.07 but after some days of use the WiFi get a lot of disconnections and:

[35143.790000] ath: phy0: Failed to stop TX DMA, queues=0x004!

So absolutely unreliable.. How is going in your case ?

Any advice as well as restore to stock tplink firmware ? sad

hi guys,
I just finished writing the patch for this AP, it's almost the same as the WR703N but with corrected leds and button.
I'm looking to have it working and flashable right from the stock firmware without any modification, I will test it soon.

I sent the patch to mailing list for review so if everything go well you will find it in trunk.
I will keep you updated!

remove the boot loader (if any) from the original firmware an flash it with mtd
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr842nd

after you strip out the boot loader the original firmware should be 3932160 bytes long

hi folks,
just to inform you that my patch has been pushed in trunk and in BB, so if you git clone one of the 2 you can compile
the firmware for the TL-WA701ND v2. all leds/button works correctly and you can flash the v2 from the stock firmware (use the factory image).

with the next BB release (14.8?) you should find a precompiled image in the download section (I think).

enjoy!
