Topic: libmbim????

The content of this topic has been archived on 6 May 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Is libmbim going to be ported to openwrt???

Or can udev be gotten to work correctly with gudev being compiled correctly..?

I think it should compile if this can be gotten working.

I'm asking cause i'm not sure how to complete this.

I dont think the main devs are that interested in this because of udev and other (dbus?) dependencies of ModemManager

however there was / is some code available if you search for it (even with google...)

see:
http://sigquit.wordpress.com/2013/02/14 … n-openwrt/
(and links there to a gitorious repo)

or an external feed that seems to have libmbim
https://code.google.com/p/openwrt-on-di … %2Flibmbim

Since there is a variety of standards of standards that is not yet integrated because they all require work and tests ...
NCM (Oskari Rauta sent some patches) , you mentioned MBIM ....

Thanks for the quick reply.

""""see:

I will have another look at systemd-udev see if i can get it to compile... might have missed a patch.

Looks right does compile but dosn't seem to function mbimcli seems like its not all there.

""""you mentioned MBIM""""

I have a modem that can attatch to the MBIM driver (K4606)  Its supposed to be able to run it.
A modified WR703N with a 16M flash.
currently its running 8m flashes.

If libmbim can be gotten to work maybe it can be shrunk a bit to be not as dependant on udev/gudev and dbus.

Night time project here keeps the mind occupied.

Sorry for the bad formating i dont know how to do it better on this forum.

The discussion might have continued from here.
