Topic: TP-Link TL-MR13U (SOLAR)-small router with built-in 10,400 mAh battery

@miguipda: You found a very-very-very attractive price for so usefull device! Thank you! I knew about this charger from Lady_Ada (Adafruit Industries) some time ago (http://www.adafruit.com/products/390), but her device has a quite high pricetag, with your discovery it makes more sence! Please, keep researching this topic - it is so interesting to get solar power to whole bunch of routers with rechargeable batteries!

@derrij: Thank you for the link to solar panel! Very attractive price!

General comment: with solar panel and Battery Rider from SeeedStudio or set-up step-down regulator we will get double conversion - first we generate 5V and later we use it to power MR13U with its own power circuit to charge the built-in battery.  To get super-optimal charging we need to get the battery out of the router and directly connect to battery contacts on Battery Rider, or maybe we can put this circuit inside MR13U, or maybe we can find some points inside MR13U to directly connect solar panel. Anyway you guys doing great job, keep researching!

Hi gents,

does somebody already tried to use the proposed solar powering system ?

Which panel did you use (in watts) and which connection did you made to it ?

If this router could only be charged by USB port could this panel (with USB) gives enough power to charge this router with USB port ?

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day,

Hi,

this patch could also be interesting with rechargeable 10 Ah battery :
http://www.marshut.com/skmwm/add-suppor … mr13u.html

And here is the idea of what I though to do for my router but when I discovered the TL-MR13U I am sure we could use what I talk about here before ;-)

Does somebody have progress with this idea ?

Have a nice day,

Miguipda ;-)

Be careful with this particular seller as the specs are altered - there is no way its capacity is 50,000 mAh, e.g. 50 Ah, that's too much for its size ;-) Check other offers for same device.
P.S. Pay special attention to shipping costs also!
P.P.S. You can find very good sellers on AliExpres, but strange sellers are also there.

pretty sure you can power any router with this one that can be powered through USB port

I am sure you can power your router with this power bank once it is fully charged. However, with a small solar-cell panel, one must wonder how many days will it take to fully charged the included batteries.

The discussion might have continued from here.
