Topic: Openwrt & XFTA Dongle

The content of this topic has been archived on 29 Mar 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello all. First time post. I am using an XFTA Dongle (Wireless Router) that is running OpenWrt Backfire 10.03 (Load: 0.08 0.02 0.01)

I am able to enter into the units' configuration with a very simple User Name: root - Password: admin. That was a no-brainer.

However once logged in, I then proceed to enter the units IP address eg 192.168.0.28:48000 and am presented with this screen. Can someone kindly assist me in identifying what exactly is located / loaded at that IP location. Thank you.

PunBB bbcode test

I was wondering if perhaps this is some type of third party client that would allow me to enter my private xfta server information?

Hi Osteele;

I see you had posted on this unit.

This is in reply to your post https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=42981.
I put it here as it relates to the hardware.

I hope these links will give you some hints on the type of router you have and an equivalent unit.
This was the result of my Google search using "xfta" as the search word.

You will have to do some work to sort through the details.

The first link that you provided John, appears to redirect to Satscams.

Hi Osteele,
Yes, it seems a lot of people who have satcams are using these units to connect to networks.

I caught the first few snips of their notes.

You would probably have to join their group to get that part of the whole story.

From the gist of it, it seems the  WL-520GU/GC could be similar to what you have but proceed with caution.

Also there is a lot of activity at the Gargoyle forums on this unit.
You may want to check there.

Note Gargoyle is built on top of openwrt.

Good hunting,
~john

Thanks again John. Already posted on the Gargoyle forum. Not much of a response as yet. By the way, isn't satscam one of those sites that the Dish and/or the US government took over?

What do I know ???

What is XFTA Dongle?
