Well, the photo for the V2 shows a connected serial cable. And the paragraph about serial mentions in both cases, that the pinout is RX, TX, GND, Vcc. All other information are in the mentioned wiki articles.
This particular pl2303 usb-to-ttl serial module with the 3-pin jumper for 5V or 3V3 works for me (on the 3V3 setting). Others may work but I haven't tried them.
