Topic: What's (not) up with the servers?

Oddly, there are a couple of things I am unable to do today.

- Cannot open www.openwrt.org in a browser.  It redirects me to https://openwrt.org, which successfully opens a blank page.

- Cannot perform an 'opkg update' while telneted into a router.  It gives me the error "wget: server returned error: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found"  If I check http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots in a browser, it is empty.

Anybody know what's going on?

Thanks,

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

There was a apparently major server RAID breakdown in connection with a planned version update for some services, and that left some of the services unusable for two days. Now most of the servers have been brought back online, but apparently the main web site is still off.

Regarding opkg, the links lead into snapshot directories, the contents of which are automatically rebuilt with buildbots every few days. Apparently the buildbots have not yet rebuilt all the snapshots after the breakdown. The current snapshot situation can be assessed here:

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

Thanks for the info.

Looks like there are a lot of failed builds.  Does this mean that not all files have been restored from the RAID crash?

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

The source files are apparently ok, but the final snapshots were not restored. Currently most of the individual buildbot machines are probably dedicated to building the beta2 of Attitude Adjustment, which was supposed to get published one of these days. Due to the limited amount of buildbots building the snapshots, it will probably take several days to get all platforms rebuilt.

I just built my own ar71xx build for WNDR3700 and the current source builds quite ok.

so???

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

If you expect someone to answer your question then at lease put in enough effort to write a complete and understandable sentence.

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

I'm sorry, i thought i was obvious, what's going on with trunk buildbots??
Thanks

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

They need changes to properly compile current trunk but the admin of the buildbot network is not reachable atm.

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

Thanks, is nice to know that there is a reason for this smile

Re: What's (not) up with the servers?

I have just finished trunk build after cleanup.

So I think the buildbot has configuration problems so that fail all builds
