Hi, does anyone know how to get into fail safe mode on TP-Link TL-MR3040? I might have bricked it... tongue

There is no failsafe on the TL-MR3420

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3420#failsafe

I have brick no.2 and will try the serial debrick method.  DKU-5 cable only £2.29 from ebay, some soldering and some fun!

Not much help to questions on here so trial and error until i get my config right.  I managed to brick mine through LuCI earlier.  The last one i bricked through CLI.

Jono

It is a MR3040, the one that comes with battery.

Sorry for my mistake, i am not sure about this device but what does it say on the hardware page about failsafe?

No problem. Unfortunately, there is no fail safe section yet on the wiki page..

Is it possible to to install Openwrt on European mr3040 already or only on a Chinese TL-MR11U which is really not the same device?

Some people may brick their devices if trying on the wrong device!

Most installation guides refer to TL-MR11U!!!

European version working fine with OpenWrt.

Hello,

there is a fail safe mode on TP-Link TL-MR3040, using the reset buton :
- switch on the router
- wait 5 sec
- press the reset switch

Et voilà, your are in fail safe mode, as you can verify it with a "ping 192.168.1.1"...

Ah, don't worry with the LED, they are never flashing !

Bye
