Topic: No Web Interface after flashing TP-Link WR703N

Hi there,

I'm really sorry if this question sounds a bit noob, but after I flashed the new OpenWRT Firmware (1.5) on my TP-Link WR 703N, I did not get an admin interface on 192.168.1.1. Telnet and SSH both are working great, even without failsafe mode. But it works only if i connect to the device via cable, WiFi is not found either.
Since I'm pretty new to this, is there a possibility to re-flash the device with some other firmware via Telnet/SSH? (or anything else? anything is welcome) If yes, please tell me what I need to do.

I already read this
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/gener … ernet.port
But I can't get onto the FTP. seems like the device has almost instant boot....

I am really grateful for any solution.

Thanks guys!

HI,Wangba
Pls check the /etc/config/wireless
set the disable value to 0 or # it.
Openwrt set the wifi off default, you need to turn if on.

You may need to study this first.
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/start

The day before I flash openwrt, I did read very hard on that page.
Ordinary openwrt firmware DOESN'T come with WebUI, if you need it you need to Install it afterward.
By default Wifi is DISABLED for security reason.

You need to "setup" your 703n properly in order to make it have internet access and working wifi.
It is done by edit "/etc/config/network" and "wireless" config file.
Since I don't know your network, you need to read the wiki and figure it yourself.

wangba: ftp or tftp?

1. Why do you want tftp? Use MTD (Memory Technology Device Utility).
2. Do telnet and ssh work for you at the same time?

I wrote a Beginner Guide to avoid/answer most of the questions that pop up, when you begin using OpenWrt. Feel free to make it better and or translate it.

Thanks you guys making the wiki.
I read them before flashing openwrt.
That's why I said need to study the wiki.

Openwrt is a bit different and difficult than other firmware.
It looks like a pure linux envir in the beginning.
If it is too difficult, I would recommend custom build of openwrt or dd-wrt.

I don't think he can use MTD in this moment.
His router may not have internet access to download firmware in this stage.
In this case, how to flash the router in this case ?

1. Configure your Internet connection after you login via SSH
2. Install LuCI with: opkg update; opkg install luci
3. Open the URL http://192.168.1.1 in your browser

@Orca

This is not my problem.
You better ask why they don't understand what to do.

The discussion might have continued from here.
